It gives more time to watch the people interact, and I never felt spoon fed information. It would be a thousand times better if they just let this super-lucky guy whom Netflix adores for some reason just date each woman so we can see what he’s like or not like and what the people actually do or say. Whether this is real or not it is edited and pieced together nicely. To me it serves as a quick how to of dating for the inexperienced or unseasoned. I would like to be first in line to audition for season 2, and it should obviously be set in Los Angeles. There’s lots of real estate agents and entrepreneurs here too 😂.

One would think that these shifts would prompt reality dating shows to organically update themselves for the times. Instead, somehow, the genre has just leaned back into the conventional and retro. As social media and apps have taken over dating, the whole process has become more and more mediated. Setting up a dating profile requires curating and selling yourself like a brand or a reality TV character. And daters often google each other and check out Instagrams before meeting up.

By the end of the show, the single chooses who they wish to accompany them to go on a second date. The kindergarten teacher was one of the most entertaining personalities on the show. His humor and his preferences along with his softer side made us crave to find out much more about him. The New Orleans native, who’d been single for quite some time now, was looking for someone who he could connect with on a deeper left and go to the next step with.

The show will roll out over three weeks, starting February 13. In one of the dates, with the funny, self-effacing Victoria, the chemistry is apparent right away. Two other dates, with Kate and Ashley, are pleasant but they definitely look like they’re going nowhere. The most awkward piece of television I have ever watched in my entire life is S2, Ep 2 of DATING AROUND. Here’s everything you need to know about the relationship status of Justin & Ann after Netflix’sDating Aroundseason 2. Episode 1 of the series kicked off with a New Orleans bachelor attending five dates.

Episode two is the first time we see dates really break the mould of the show’s format and from that point it gets a bit twistier and turnier. In the incredibly charming fourth episode, sixtysomething widower Leonard meets five of the most incredible older women in New York. One, a fashion queen garbed in black like a Lady Gaga from the future, refuses to get a drink after dinner because it’s her bedtime.

The pair shared a love for weddings, drinking, dance, and even discussed dating apps. Justin suggested that Ann should have some empathy for men when she said, “I tried Bumble, I don’t want to have to be the first one to say something.” However, the pair did have some differences. Ann spoke about how she had moved around a lot saying that she was “Born in Ohio, but moved to San Antonio, Texas, moved to Houston and went to school in Alabama.” The reality show premiered on Netflix last year, and the second season just came out last weekend.

Heather Salvaggio is currently also running a second Instagram account to showcase her professional makeup skills. From her Instagram handle, it does not appear ladate people that the ex-Dating Around contestant is dating right now. Ben Samuel was one of the most earnest and genuine of all the Dating Around contestants so far.

This show depicts a series of singletons sharing dinner with each other before deciding whether to meet again for a second date or not. Unlike Netflix’s effort at this genre, First Dates felt much more simple in its design and set up, making use of static cameras and musical cues to show when things went awry. Here though, Netflix have gone all out to make a stylish, aesthetically pleasing show with differing venues and decor through every episode to keep things feeling fresh. After we see Luke end his various dates — some with a long kiss, others without — we find out who he ends up on a second date with during a daytime scene sometime later.

The very gentlemanly Professor of Computer Science Ben deserves some happy love, although his episode was full of awkward moments so pungent it was hard to watch. We’re rooting for him and awaiting any updates from his brand new Instagram account. Justin’s five dates are Barbara, Lilly, Ashley, Assata and Ann.

Some dates begin really well and slowly devolve into awkward, contrived exchanges. Others have certain ticks and first-date no-nos including checking phones and poor table manners that (if you’re like me) will have you sighing, rolling your eyes and audibly shouting at the TV. Figuring out who’s compatible with who and which dates worked and which didn’t really helps get you invested in the show and makes this much more enjoyable than it first seems. The only problem with Netflix’s reality series is the way it is shot.

This is the best dating reality series I’ve seen, and I’ve been on a kick of watching mostly dating shows so I think I have some insight here. Netflix’s silence on a second season led to speculation it was moving on from Dating Around, or that perhaps the show’s audience size didn’t match the hype. But Netflix unscripted chief Brandon Riegg told Vulture the service is “really excited” about the format. “We love that show, and we love the fresh approach that the producers came up with when they first pitched us the concept,” Riegg said.
